Woman wins big with Kentucky Lottery online game

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lawrenceburg woman hit it big in the Kentucky Lottery.

According to lottery officials, the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, won a $277,183.75 jackpot in September while playing the Kentucky Lottery Online Instant Play game Coins Of The Titans.

“I’m a nurse and had just gotten done working back-to-back shifts, so I was exhausted,” the woman said. “I started playing to just zone out before bed.”

Shortly after, she hit the bonus on the game. “I saw stars coming down, so I knew it was a big win,” she told lottery officials. “They kept falling, and I knew what that meant. I couldn’t believe it. I was wide awake.”

She woke up her husband who also had a hard time believing it, asking her, “Are you sure?”

The Anderson County couple had been playing the Kentucky Lottery online for a couple of years and, most recently, had been playing the online jackpot games but had never won anything this big.

“I kept checking my email to make sure it was real,” she said.

The couple traveled to Louisville on September 30 to collect their check for $199,572.30 after taxes. They plan to pay off student loans and invest in their future with the winnings.
