Winter Weather: Here is Toronto’s Christmas forecast
Brace yourselves Toronto drivers, because the city is under a winter weather travel advisory.
The advisory was issued Monday morning, warning drivers of a pending snowfall expected to see 5 to 15 cm accumulate throughout the day, with low visibility in areas with heavier snowfall.
The agency says that drivers should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions, including icy and snow-covered roads, with travel potentially becoming hazardous because of sudden weather changes.
The snow is expected to start this morning, dusting the city with a few centimetres, but Environment Canada says there may be a break this afternoon before heavier snow begins this evening.
The snowfall is expected to taper off in the evening, with the risk of freezing drizzle.
Mild temperatures are in the forecast today, with a high of zero, falling to -1 C overnight.
There is potential for flurries on Tuesday, with temperatures forecasted to reach a high of 1 C, before falling to -4 C overnight.
Then on Wednesday, a mix of sun and cloud is expected for Christmas Day, with a high of 1 C and an overnight low of -3 C.
