Labour Day falls on Monday, Sept. 2, and as a statutory holiday dedicated to honouring the contributions of workers and the labour movement, many businesses and government services will be closed.

Exceptions
- The Beer Store plans to have 128 retail locations open on Monday, Sept. 2. They will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless otherwise noted (check your local Beer Store for hours).
- A Wine Rack spokesperson confirmed that 84 stores will be open (check your local Wine Rack for hours).
- A Walmart spokesperson confirmed that while not all Ontario locations will be open on Monday, Sept. 2, some will be (check your local Walmart for hours)
- Some grocery stores will be open (check your local store for hours).
- Some pharmacies will be open (check your local store for hours).
- Some department stores will be open (check your local store for hours).
- Some major malls will be open (check your local mall for hours).
Altered services
Depending on your community, transit services may be reduced or not operating. For example, GO Transit will be operating on a Saturday schedule. Check your local operator for local service hours or visit gotransit.com/en/see-schedules/holiday-schedules.
Waste collection may be shifted one day to accommodate the holiday Monday in some communities.
