Toronto third safest city for tourists, Forbes Advisor says

Toronto ranked as the world’s third safest city for tourists, according to a new study by Forbes Advisor, a global platform that helps consumers make financial choices.

The company compared 60 international cities across seven key metrics — travel safety rating (20% of score), crime risk (17% of score), personal security risk (17% of score), health security risk (17% of score), infrastructure security risk (10% of score), natural disaster risk (10% of score) and digital security risk (9% of score) — to come up with a list of the top five safest cities.
“Toronto has the best travel safety rating from the State Department, the fourth lowest infrastructure security risk and the seventh lowest health security risk,” said Forbes Adivisor
Coming in at No. 1 was Singapore, which has the “best travel safety rating from the State Department, the lowest natural disaster risk and the second lowest health security risk.”

Tokyo ranked second safest because “it has the lowest health security risk, the best travel safety rating from the State Department and the fifth lowest infrastructure security risk.”

Coming in at the fourth safest was Sydney, Australia, which “has the lowest digital security risk, the 10th lowest health security risk and the 10th lowest infrastructure security risk.”
In fifth place was Zurich, Switzerland, which had the “third lowest natural disaster risk and the fifth lowest crime risk.”
The three riskiest cities for tourists included Caracas at No. 1 with the highest health and crime risks, the worst travel safety rating and the second highest infrastructure security risk and second highest digital security risk.
Coming in at No. 2 was Karachi, Pakistan, with the second worst travel safety rating and the fourth highest infrastructure security risk.
Weighing in at No. 3 was Yangon, Myanmar, with the highest digital security risk, the third highest personal security risk and and third highest health security risk.
