Toronto reunion a success

Several alumni from Toronto High School spent the Labor Day weekend back in the Gem City, participating in the THS all-school reunion. The two-day event was the school’s 135th anniversary and included such activities as a golf scramble, dinner and a block party. Many graduating classes between the years 1946 through 2003 were represented in a parade of classes that marched along North Fourth Street on Aug. 31. The weekend featured the annual Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the nonprofit group, Focus in Toronto. Clockwise from top left, the parade of classes was led by 1946 graduate Ellsworth “Pickles” Graham, who was driven in a golf cart behind the Toronto High School marching band, which led the parade. The Class of 1979 was among the participants in the reunion parade. Among its classmates and carrying the banner, was Graham’s twin daughters, Marlene Graham Wolf and Darlene Graham Mason. The local band Sasquatch was one of three bands who entertained alumni throughout the evening. The group was preceded by the Remainders, with both bands’ members being Toronto High School graduates. Bon Journey, a Bon Jovi and Journey tribute band, closed out the evening, which was organized by the Toronto High School Alumni Association. A special block party was held to celebrate past graduates. In addition to the live entertainment, vendors sold food and drinks to guests.
