Toronto police officer accused of sex assault, mischief, assault, weapons offences | CBC News

A Toronto police officer has been charged with four counts of sexual assault allegedly involving other police service members who were his subordinates.

In a news release on Thursday, Toronto police said the detective, 57, was arrested and charged on Thursday.

He has also been charged with four counts of mischief interfere with property, one count of assault and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police allege that the accused, in addition to the alleged sexual assaults, was guilty of workplace harassment and sexual harassment against his subordinates between September 2020 and November 2023.

“As a result, the accused interfered with their lawful enjoyment of their workplace,” police said in the release.

During an altercation, police alleged that the detective assaulted the alleged victim and produced a weapon.

The detective, who has 35 years of service, was assigned to Toronto police’s integrated gun and gang task force and is suspended with pay in keeping with the Community Safety and Policing Act of Ontario, police said.
