Toronto man wins RVH 50/50 $271,000 jackpot

A man from Toronto is taking home the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) Auxiliary 50/50 September jackpot worth $271,560.

“I lived in the region before moving to Toronto and have supported the RVH Auxiliary 50/50 for quite a while,” said winner David MacKenzie.

Every ticket purchase for the monthly draw helps raise funds to support patient care closer to home.

“I very much support the great cause of helping RVH with their equipment needs,” MacKenzie added.

The draw is part of RVH’s Keep Life Wild Campaign, which aims to raise $5 million for the hospital.

“With the first half of the pledge to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit successfully fulfilled, the auxiliary maintains to assist with RVH’s plan to enhance health care services offered in our growing region, including the funding for a third MRI,” an official release noted on Friday.

Tickets are on sale now for the Oct. 31 draw and can be purchased online or at the lotto booth at the hospital’s food court weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at Mayes-Martin Ltd on Vespra Street weekdays between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
