A Toronto man wanted for murder in connection with a shooting downtown in May has been arrested in the United Kingdom, police say.
On May 22, Toronto police responded to a call for “unknown trouble” near Isabella and Jarvis streets, according to a news release issued May 28.
A man was found lying on the ground behind a building with obvious signs of trauma, police said. He died four days later in hospital.
The victim was identified as Jesse Tubbs, 30, of Mississauga.
At the time, police issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a 24-year-old suspect.
The suspect was located and arrested in Luton, England on Aug. 19, according to a news release on Monday.
He is being held by authorities in the U.K. and, pending extradition to Canada, will be charged with first-degree murder.
