Toronto man charged in connection with human trafficking investigation

A 31-year-old man from Toronto has been arrested and charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation.

The investigation began last October after a victim reported that a man had recruited and exploited her in the sex trade for financial gain.

The following month, a suspect identified as Andre Davis was taken into custody and charged with trafficking in persons, advertising sexual services, exercise control, direction, or influence, receiving benefit from trafficking in persons, material benefit from sexual services, two counts of assault, and two counts of forcible confinement, police said in a news release.
