Three people shot at downtown after-hours club

Three people were shot when gunfire erupted at an after-hours bar in the city’s Entertainment District early Saturday.

Toronto Police say gunshots rang out near Spadina Ave. and Queen St. around 5:20 a.m.

“Police received a call to attend a shooting at an after-hours bar on Spadina,” Acting Duty Insp. Phillip Sinclair said at the scene Saturday. “When police arrived they located three males who had been shot.”

He said three males were transported to hospital and one was suffering from life-threatening injuries.

“A suspect attended the bar armed with two firearms,” Sinclair said. “While in the bar the suspect got into an altercation with employees and during this altercation the suspect produced a firearm and two employees were shot. The suspect also received a gunshot wound.”

One man was arrested at the scene.

And police recovered two firearms.
