Thinking about pursuing a position with the Ontario Provincial Police? Upcoming OPP career expo in Orillia will provide information about how to become a police officer and other jobs

If you’re considering a career in law enforcement, you may want to circle April 20 on your calendar and plan to make the trek to Orillia.

That’s because the Ontario Provincial Police is holding a career expo at its general headquarters in Orillia, with five sessions scheduled to take place during hour-long blocks throughout the day. The first session takes place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and the fifth and final will run from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

“The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Career Expo will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about positions currently available within the organization,” the event description says.

“Sessions will provide an overview of how to prepare for each stage of the process; these sessions will also provide attendees the opportunity to ask questions before applying.”

A Facebook post advertising the upcoming event says it is meant for those interested in pursuing a career with the OPP who might not know where to start. The post goes on to say that attendees will learn about uniform recruitment, civilian recruitment, cadets, fleet services and more.

The OPP’s headquarters is located at 777 Memorial Ave. in Orillia. To register for a career expo session, get more information or learn about other upcoming OPP events, visit the OPP’s events page on its website.
