The LCBO has announced its plan for extended store hours ahead of a possible strike that could begin on July 5 and is encouraging customers to shop early and stock up on their favourites before July 4.
Ontario Public Service Employees Union, the union representing the workers, will be in a legal strike position at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 5.
Due to the potential strike, the province’s liquor retailer is extending hours at all stores across Ontario from Thursday, June 27 to Thursday, July 4.
All stores will open at 9:30 a.m., while closing hours will vary from location to location, with many stores staying open until 10 p.m.
Location hours can be found on the LCBO’s website, where store hours will be updated once the extended hours are in effect.
All LCBO retail locations will be closed on Canada Day, Monday, July 1.
“We encourage customers to shop early and stock up on preferred products. Our shelves are well-stocked, and we are doing everything we can to maintain inventory levels,” LCBO said in a news release. “Customers may wish to stock up on spirits and Vintages products in particular at this time.”
The LCBO said online shopping remains available at this time, which includes delivery to home, to the store and same-day pickup. Delivery to the store is available until June 26, while same-day pickup will be available until July 2. Purchases through participating on-demand delivery providers is available until July 4.
