Raptors Share Updates on Gary Trent Jr. & RJ Barrett
Gary Trent Jr. is back.
The Toronto Raptors will have the 25-year-old back from a two-game absence for Friday night’s game against the Orlando Magic, the team announced.
Trent had been listed as questionable with a right groin strain.
The Raptors remain without a timetable for RJ Barrett’s return following the passing of his younger brother Nathan. Raptors coach Darko Rajaković said the team will give Barrett as much time as he needs as the Barrett family grieves.
“We’re in touch with RJ and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we’re hoping that they can feel our support and love,” Rajaković told reporters in Toronto.
Barrett missed Wednesday’s game and will be out Friday.
Toronto remains without Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, Chris Boucher, DJ Carton, and Mouhamadou Gueye. Barnes and Poeltl remain without a timeline to return this season following surgery earlier this month.
The Magic will be at full strength.
