Pike County player wins online lottery prize worth more than $1 million
Despite odds, more Americans are buying lottery tickets
According to research from Statista Market Insights, revenue in the online lottery market is projected to reach more than $5 billion in 2024. Overall in 2023, U.S. lottery sales totaled more than $113 billion, according to the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries.

A Pike County resident was awarded an online prize worth $1,003,068 by the Pennsylvania Lottery for a win in the MONOPOLY Property Payout game.
MONOPOLY Property Payout is described by the Pennsylvania Lottery as an online, connect-style game, featuring a chance to reveal a dice symbol to play for a chance to win an instant prize, multiply the total won up to 10 times and activate five different bonus games. One can also activate the free parking bonus game for a chance to win the current high rise jackpot amount. This game offers an auto play option that automatically plays up to 20 game rounds.
The play amount is between $1 and $50.
Pennsylvania is one of 14 U.S. states to sell lottery products online and games can be played on a computer, tablet or mobile device.
