N.Y. Lottery: Player claims  million scratch-off prize as one-time lump sum; 2 top prizes remain

A New York Lottery player has claimed a $1 million prize on a scratch-off game.

Marilyn Quagliata of Rochester, N.Y., has claimed a $1 million prize on the New York Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off game, according to lottery officials.. The ticket was purchased at Tops Market, located at 1900 Clinton Ave. S. in Rochester.

Quagliata opted to receive the payment as a one-time lump sum of $651,000, after required withholdings, according to officials.

As of this writing, there are two $5 million top prizes and 15 $1 million prizes remaining on the VIP Millions ticket.

Players may check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.

Tickets for this game are $30 each. To play, you have to match any of your numbers to any of the winning numbers to win the prize shown.

The top prize is $5 million. The odds of winning this top prize are 1 in 5.48 million, according to the New York Lottery.
