A New York Lottery player from New York City has claimed a $1 million prize on a scratch-off game.

Sandra Velez of the Bronx has claimed the prize on the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Cashword Bonus scratch-off game. The ticket was purchased at 211 Pitt Stop, located at 700 Route 211 East in Middletown.

Velez opted to receive a one-time lump sum payment totaling $446,935, after required withholdings, according to officials.

As of this writing, three top prizes remain in this scratch-off game.

Players may check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.

Tickets for this game are $10 each. To play, you have to scratch your letters in the crossword to win prizes.

The top prize is $1 million. The odds of winning this top prize are 1 in 4.55 million, according to the New York Lottery.
