Michigan Lottery Celebrates 10 Years of Online Lottery Sales

The Michigan Lottery is celebrating 10 years of online Lottery sales this month! The Lottery’s online games have paid out billions in prizes to players and are responsible for more than $1.3 billion in contributions to the state’s School Aid Fund to support public education in Michigan!

“The Michigan Lottery’s industry-leading online Lottery platform has become the standard bearer for online lottery programs in North America,” said Lottery Commissioner, Suzanna Shkreli. “The Lottery’s online portfolio features entertaining instant games and draw-based games that give Michiganders a chance to win multi-million-dollar jackpots. In an increasingly competitive online gaming marketplace in Michigan, the Lottery’s online games have provided more than $1.3 billion to Michigan schools.

“Our team is focused on providing players with innovative games and responsible play resources, and I am looking forward to Michigan continuing to set the bar in the online Lottery space.”

The Michigan Lottery launched its online platform in August 2014 offering nine instant online games. In the 10 years since, MichiganLottery.com has expanded to offering more than 200 online instant games and seven draw games which give Michiganders a chance to win prizes ranging from $1 up to multimillion-dollar jackpots.

Since August 2014, players have won more than $10.5 billion in prizes playing instant and draw games online. Recently, a $7.19 million Lotto 47 jackpot set the record for the largest prize ever won on MichiganLottery.com. More than 2.2 million Michiganders are registered account holders at MichiganLottery.com.

In addition to billions in prizes to players, the iLottery platform is responsible for more than $1.3 billion in contributions to the state’s School Aid Fund. The Michigan Lottery is proud to have contributed more than $28 billion to the School Aid Fund since 1972 to support public education in Michigan.

The Michigan Lottery is committed to promoting responsible gaming and was the first Lottery to achieve the Internet Responsible Gambling Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) certification through the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in Oct. 2015.
