MEDIA ADVISORY – Emergency Response Training Exercise to Take Place at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport October 5
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2024 /CNW/ – On October 5, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. PortsToronto will conduct an emergency training exercise at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Media are not able to attend the exercise, however the public may see emergency vehicles and a simulated disabled Q400 Dash8 aircraft and contact newsrooms to inquire.
The routine security exercise will test airport protocols, procedures, communications and planning for emergency and /or security related incidents and is mandated by Transport Canada. This simulated scenario aids in ensuring that the airport maintains a high level of emergency response preparedness and will involve multiple agencies including Toronto Police Services, Toronto Fire, (and related Marine Units), Toronto Paramedic Services, NAV Canada as well as staff and officials from the various agencies, airport stakeholders and airlines that operate out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

• Volunteer actors serving in various roles, including as passengers who may appear to be in distress or in need of medical attention. |
