Lucky Statesville lottery player scores $4 million Mega Millions prize
STATESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – A lucky person from Statesville won $4 million in Tuesday’s Mega Millions lottery drawing after buying an online ticket.
North Carolina lottery officials said the $3 ticket was purchased using Online Play, and matched numbers on all five of the white Mega Millions balls. The win would have been $1 million, but because the ticket had a multiplier, it was quadrupled.
Two lottery players from California won $1 million, along with one from both Louisiana and Oklahoma. Nobody won Tuesday’s $760 million jackpot, with it increasing to an estimated $825 million for Friday’s drawing.
The balls were 56, 66, 67, 68, 69, respectively, with a yellow Mega Ball 18.
Another person from North Carolina won $10,000 after they bought a ticket at a 7-Eleven in Charlotte.
Mega Millions tickets can be bought at any lottery retail location, or through Online Play on the lottery’s website or mobile app.
