Groceries
- Walmart at Square One (100 City Centre Dr.) is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Labour Day. All other Walmart locations in the city are closed Monday, Sept. 2.
- T and T Supermarket at 715 Central Parkway W. is open Labour Day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Rabba Fine Foods Mississauga locations is open Monday, Sept. 2.
- All Costco, Fresh Co, Metro, No Frills, Oceans and Real Canadian Superstore in the city will be closed Monday, Sept. 2.
Alcohol
- Three Mississauga Beer Stores — 1550 Dundas St. E., 3154 Hurontario St., and 5800 McLaughlin Rd. — will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 2, the company says.
- All Mississauga LCBOs will be open for regular hours on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1, but closed for Labour Day, Sept. 2.
- The Mississauga Wine Rack location at 416 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., a spokesperson for the company says.
Malls
- Square One is open Monday, Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Meadowvale Town Centre, Erin Mills Town Centre, Dixie Outlet Mall and Heartland Town Centre are all closed Monday, Sept. 2, their websites say.
Transit
- MiWay will operate on a regular Sunday schedule on Labour Day. The transit agency says it’s information and fare booths at the City Centre Transit Terminal will be closed that day and customers can call 905-615-4636 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with service questions.
- GO Transit will be operating on its Saturday schedule on Monday, Sept. 2.
- Trips on Peel’s TransHelp for Monday, Sept. 2 and Tuesday, Sept. 3 have to be booked by 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, according to a media release from the region. All TransHelp subscription trips will be cancelled on Labour Day, except for those related to dialysis. TransHelp can be reached at transhelp@peelregion.ca or 905-791-1015.
Community spaces and government services
- City community centres are closed for the holiday Monday, but outdoor pools are open, according to a city spokesperson.
- Specific locations and hours are posted on the city’s sports and recreation website.
- All Mississauga library branches will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 2.
- All Service Ontario and Service Canada locations in Mississauga will be closed on Labour Day.
- Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives is closed Sept. 2.
- Peel Region offices and non-emergency services are closed Monday, Sept. 2 and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 3, the region says.
Those requiring urgent homelessness supports, including food, supplies and shelter, can call Peel’s street helpline at 1-877-848-8481. Emergency shelter information is available through Peel’s housing webpage or by calling 905-450-1996.
The region also says the following locations, services and clinics will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 and reopen the following day:
- Access Peel counters
- Dental services contact centre and dental clinics
- Early Years and child care services
- Family Health call centre
- Healthy sexuality clinics
- Ontario Works in Peel
- Housing services, client services
- Peel Works Harm Reduction — mobile vans
There is no waste collection on Monday, Sept. 2. The region says waste pick up will happen a day later than usual following the Labour Day holiday.
All of Peel’s community recycling centres will be closed for Labour Day and will reopen, Tuesday, Sept. 3, the region says.
