Kansas Lottery to begin selling lottery tickets online

The Kansas Lottery Commission has approved the sale of lottery tickets online, beginning later this year or in early 2025.

The Lottery website or mobile app will be selling scratch tickets, Powerball and Mega Millions tickets, along with tickets for other games.  Like sports betting apps, the Kansas Lottery said geolocation and age verification will be required before any online or mobile sales are conducted.

Lottery officials issued a statement saying this represents another step in the modernization of the Kansas Lottery.  Officials with the South Central Kansas Problem Gambling Task Force are raising concerns that this will increase gambling addiction in the state.
