How many tickets were bought for last night’s $43m Powerball draw?

Lotto confirmed on Thursday that the maximum $50 million prize has been won twice before, in February 2020, and again six months later in August.

“This is only the third time in Lotto NZ history that we’ve reached a Must Be Won draw of $50 million, and if won by a single ticket on Saturday night, it will be the largest prize ever won in Lotto NZ’s history,” said Jason Delamore, Lotto NZ’s chief executive.

“We know one or more of our lucky Powerball players is guaranteed a win, so we’re ready for a big draw night.”

On Saturday, if no player wins First Division, it’ll move down to Second Division winners and will be split equally between them.
