  • Young Man Injured in Early Morning Shooting While Seated in Vehicle

    BALTIMORE, MD – A shooting investigation has been initiated following an incident on October 9.

    At approximately 7:15 a.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 1200 block of E. Lafayette Street after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 22-year-old male victim suffering from a graze wound to the head. Medics treated the victim on the scene.

    The victim reported that he was sitting in a vehicle when an unidentified individual opened fire on it. Officers have identified a crime scene in the 1700 block of Hollins Street.

    Detectives from the Southwestern District Shooting unit have taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact them at 410-396-2488.   • Frederick Police Respond to Early Morning Incident on East Church Street

    FREDERICK, MD – Officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to a reported stabbing incident on East Church Street early Wednesday morning. The report was received at around 5:40 a.m., leading police to the 500 block of the street. Upon their arrival, they found the victim with minor injuries to their hand.

    The injured individual was promptly transported to Frederick Health Hospital for medical attention. Following a preliminary investigation, authorities indicated that the incident involved two people who were acquainted with each other. Despite the initial report suggesting a stabbing, further information and CCTV footage suggested the injuries might have resulted from a physical altercation involving an air conditioning window unit.

    The victim in the case has chosen not to pursue any charges against the other party involved. The police department has reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat regarding the situation.
