Environment Canada issues winter weather advisory for the GTA | CBC News
The Greater Toronto Area is expected to get its first blast of winter weather on Wednesday.
A low-pressure system is set to bring snow starting in the morning, according to a weather advisory from Environment Canada
The region could see close to five centimetres before the snow tapers off by the evening, the federal weather agency says.
Environment Canada says the snowfall could result in reduced visibility and hazardous driving conditions.
It says there may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in some areas.
Parts of Ontario still digging out from a major weekend storm over the weekend are also expected to get another dump of snow starting Tuesday evening.
An Environment Canada weather advisory for Bracebridge and Gravenhurst in Muskoka says lake effect snow may move through the region Tuesday evening, reducing visibility and bringing a few centimetres of accumulation.
Five to 10 centimetres of snow is also expected in the area Wednesday.
