Drake’s property taped off by police after shooting in ritzy community leaves man with serious injuries
Canadian rapper Drake’s mansion was taped off by police as they investigated an early-morning shooting Tuesday outside of his property in a ritzy Toronto neighborhood.
The shooting took place around 2:10 a.m. local time in Bridle Path, which is home to Drake’s $100 million manse, Toronto Police said in an initial update.
The suspect fled in a vehicle, and there was no immediate description of either available, police added.
One man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, CBC News reported.
Drake, 37, was not harmed in the incident, officials told City News.
The rapper has agreed to cooperate with authorities, sources told CTV News Toronto.
The shooting comes amid a heated rap feud between Drake and recording artist Kendrick Lamar.
Drake’s Toronto home made headlines in 2020 when it was featured in Architectural Digest.
The 50,000-square-foot home, which he calls The Embassy, features amenities such as an NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court with a 21-square-foot pyramidal skylight.
