Developers top off 11 Yorkville in Toronto – Daily Commercial News
TORONTO — RioCan Living, Metropia and Capital Developments marked a construction milestone recently as the developers held a topping-off ceremony at their 11 Yorkville condo project in Toronto.
Residents will begin taking possession in Q4 of 2024, stated a release. The 65-storey project, with 698 residences, broke ground in November 2020.
The residence will also feature two storeys of retail space spanning 25,000 square feet including an 18,000-square-foot fitness centre, Sweat and Tonic’s third Toronto location. The project has sold out, with the exception of a few newly released penthouse units.
The project includes a new 14-metre-wide parkette that will connect Cumberland Street to Yorkville Avenue, adding to the public spaces in Yorkville, which include the Rose Garden and the Village of Yorkville Park.
The building was designed by Sweeny&Co, drawing inspiration from New York’s 1920s skyscrapers, stated the release. The interiors are by Cecconi Simone.
“11 Yorkville brings together some of the city’s best in development, design and construction. To our partners whose dedication and expertise have been crucial in achieving this milestone, thank you for getting us here,” said Samuel Frum, president of Metropia, in a statement. “From the onset, this project was never about another luxury residence, it was about preserving the soul of Yorkville. It’s one of the last chances to live on Toronto’s most beloved streets, where every corner tells a story, and every step embraces the neighbourhood’s rich history.”
