Cheboygan Woman Wins $24,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Roaring 20s Instant Game Online

A Cheboygan woman teared up when she won $24,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Roaring 20s instant game online.

“I have been playing the Roaring 20s game for a while,” said Denise Matas. “You always see people winning big prizes and never think it will be you, so when the prize of $100 a month for 20 years came up on the screen, I teared up.

“I took a screenshot and sent it to a few people close to me to share the news. Winning $24,000 is so exciting and a huge relief!”

Matas, 38, visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her big prize. She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $17,500 rather than 20 annuity payments totaling $24,000. With her winnings, she plans to pay bills and purchase a new vehicle.
