Canada Hindu temple attack: ‘Leaders are failing to safeguard Hindus’, says Toronto MP – Here’s what more he said – World News

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the recent attack on the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton by Khalistani extremists. Highlighting the significance of religious freedom, he affirmed that every Canadian has the right to practice their faith openly and safely.

In a post on X, Trudeau said that the “acts of violence” at the temple are “unacceptable”. “ Every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely,” he added.

‘Canada safe harbour for radicals’

While Trudeau condemned the attack, Toronto MP Kevin Vuong criticised the attack as well. He asserted that “Canada has become a safe harbour for radicals”, adding that the leaders of the country had failed to protect the Hindus.

“Alarming to see an attack on Hindu Canadians. From Khalistani extremists to terrorist cosplayers, Canada has become a safe harbour for radicals.”

“Our leaders are failing to safeguard Hindus as they have Christians & Jewish Canadians from violence. We all deserve to worship in peace,” he wrote on X.

In the aftermath of the attacks, the Hindu Canadian Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Hindu community in Canada, released a video documenting the assault on the temple, stating that Khalistani terrorists targeted children and women.

Earlier, Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre had also condemned the attack and called it “completely unacceptable”. Poilievre reiterated that Conservatives condemn the attack and pledged to bring people together to restore order.

“Completely unacceptable to see violence targeting worshippers at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today…All Canadians should be free to practice their faith in peace. Conservatives condemn this violence unequivocally. I will unite our people and end the chaos,” he wrote on X.
