“Business with friends”: Industry pros gather at Skål Toronto’s 68th golf tournament
Two Skål clubs, one objective: to enjoy a round of golf with friends (and maybe talk business, too).
Skål Toronto’s 68th annual golf tournament took place on Wednesday (Aug. 28) at the Royal Ontario Golf Club in Milton, ON, welcoming just over 65 travel industry pros and their supporters.
This year’s event, which included breakfast and lunch, and a line-up of raffle prizes, was held in collaboration with Skål Toronto North and, for the first time, adventure tour operator Exoticca served as the headlining sponsor.
Skål, a professional network of travel, tourism and hospitality leaders around the world, is “all about doing business with friends,” said Susan Webb, president of Skål Toronto (and president of VoX International), speaking to PAX at the fun-filled tournament, which was supported by several co-sponsors.
“This give us an opportunity to get together, socially, and hopefully do some business together,” said Webb.
Skål International has more than 14,000 members globally in 320 clubs in 84 countries. The Toronto chapter has more than 60 members, while Toronto North has around 40.
Diana Winters, vice-president of sales for Ontario at Exoticca, was elated to participate.
“What a great time!” Winters told PAX. “Catching up and seeing so many industry peers in this beautiful setting made for a great day. It was our pleasure to be here and be part of it.”
Winners – a mix of both travel industry and non-industry players – were announced in several categories:
