Build your future in business at the University of Toronto

Do you want to maximise your leadership potential? Whether your goal is to climb the ranks in your current field or move to a different industry, the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto will empower you with the skills and resources you need to take you to the C-suites.

As a part of Canada’s top university and located right in the heart of downtown Toronto, Rotman attracts the world’s best and brightest. For example, its homegrown Creative Destruction Lab, a global startup programme for seed-stage, science-based companies, has generated US$20.4 billion in equity value since its inception at the Rotman School in 2012. Here, business and political leaders from the top levels of Canada’s financial, commercial, and cultural capital serve as teachers, mentors, and speakers.

You will find the world and all of its opportunities in Toronto, the cultural and business capital of Canada. Known for its friendly neighbourhoods, Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world and consistently ranks as one of the best places to live and work.

Rotman is no exception. As the largest and most international business school in Canada, its commitment to diversity and inclusion makes the school a safe and welcoming place for all. It’s no wonder the Rotman network is a thriving community of more than 20,000 alumni worldwide.

Empowering future leaders with comprehensive master’s programmes

The Rotman School of Management is dedicated to empowering future business leaders through Master’s programmes emphasising theory and practical application. The school offers several programmes designed to help you develop the skills and real-world experience you need to be successful in today’s complex business environments, no matter your background or level of work experience.

The Full-Time MBA (FTMBA), Canada’s most comprehensive MBA programme, offers you a complete management education with 16 months of academic study and a four-month opportunity for a paid internship. You’ll have no shortage of ways to explore your passions by choosing from over 100 elective courses and selecting up to two MBA emphases. You’ll gain the global perspective and practical experience needed to thrive in the industry too, thanks to the FTMBA’s experiential learning and international study opportunities.

“My Rotman MBA experience has transformed me into a well-rounded business leader,” says graduate Dotun Ogunlela, now an associate at McKinsey & Company. “I developed a strategic mindset, gained deep insights, and broadened my horizons with an emphasis on ethical decision-making and responsible leadership.”

The Master of Management Analytics (MMA) programme at Rotman bridges the gap between data and business decisions. In just 11 months, you’ll develop an understanding of managerial decisions and learn to design data and analytical solutions to support them. The MMA programme leverages the latest machine learning and artificial intelligence predictive tools, preparing you to lead growth and long-term competitive advantage in a tech-driven economy. All of this has led to the programme ranking first in Canada (QS Business Master’s Rankings 2024: Business Analytics) and for graduate Krithi Sudhir to describe the MMA as a “life-changing journey.”

“In the first week of November, I received a wonderful opportunity to team up and interact with some data analysts from TD bank for the ‘TD Empire Hacks Back’ hackathon, organised in association with Rotman FinHub. The event extended over a period of three days,” he says. “We worked on a business case that sought to identify gig-economy workers by analysing millions of transactional data to help them plan for retirement. It has been a memorable experience for me, extremely fitting to the area of management analytics.”

For those interested in finance, the Master of Financial Risk Management (MFRM) is an accelerated programme that combines deep subject matter expertise with technical skills. It includes a Risk Management Project, connecting you with current risk managers and potential employers. Ranked #1 in Canada by QS Business Master’s Rankings 2023: Finance, the programme is taught by expert faculty and experienced industry practitioners.

“You will develop your ability to think critically about risk management, and you will have the opportunity to apply that knowledge,” says graduate Bryan Djerroud, now an Associate Director, Structured Credit, ScotiaBank.
