Toronto Police say the first robbery occurred at a business near Finch Ave. and Weston Rd. around 12 p.m. on July 9.

One bandit gained entry to the store and held the door for the three others, police said, explaining one of the robbers pointed a firearm at the victims, racked the gun and fired it five times.

The crooks stole cash and cellphones, then fled in a vehicle.

The following month, on Aug. 3, three masked bandits committed a retail robbery in the area of Gerrard St. and Jones Ave.

The trio used hammers to smash display cases and stole jewelry, then fled in a vehicle.

Investigators subsequently identified one suspect.

Police said members of the Holdup Squad executed a search warrant Thursday at an address and a male youth was arrested.
