1 injured in Rexdale jewelry store robbery

One person has been injured after an unknown number of suspects drove a vehicle into the front of a jewelry store in north Etobicoke and stole merchandise.

The incident happened late Sunday afternoon at Raj’s Jewellery, 2650 Islington Ave.

The store is located in a plaza at the northwest corner of Islington Avenue and Albion Road.

Toronto police said they were called to that area just before 5:30 p.m. for a robbery.

They said that a suspect(s) crashed a vehicle into the front of a store.

Investigators said they then entered the establishment and took a “quantity” of merchandise before fleeing the area.
