State to launch tech-based lottery, bumper prize to be over Rs 50cr | Goa News – Times of India
Panaji: Goa will become one of India’s first states to launch a fully tech-based online lottery. The platform is poised to revolutionise the lottery landscape with its technology, transparency, and accessibility, its promoters said. The prize money will range from the base ticket price up to a bumper prize of over Rs 50 crore. State govt will launch the lottery on Nov 18, and the first draw will be held on Nov 24.
“State has finalised the joint venture comprising Rhiti Sports and Dusane Infotech to run the online lottery in Goa,” director of small savings and lotteries, Narayan Gad, told TOI. The marketing licence, issued by state govt, sets the online lottery to become a “trailblazer” in India’s lottery industry, currently a paper-based system officially prevalent in over 12 states. The online lottery will be entirely paperless, leveraging technology to ensure a seamless opportunity for the widest range of lottery lovers across India and the world.
Arun Pandey, founder of the Rhiti group, said, “We are thrilled to launch Great Goa Games, the only complete online lottery brand from India, which is the first in the country. At Rhiti Sports, our mission is to democratise opportunities through technology.” The new lottery will play a pivotal role in promoting responsible gaming through advanced technology, transparency, and driving positive social change, it said.
Through features such as educational resources about responsible gambling, users can be better informed about the risks and rewards associated with lottery participation, Rhiti Sports said.
Great Goa Games will not only offer an unparalleled experience for players but also ensure that over 50% of the collected funds are returned as prizes, fostering trust and excitement. This initiative underscores our commitment to societal betterment through innovation, making the lottery accessible and rewarding for everyone.”
With a digital platform, individuals from diverse backgrounds, especially the unskilled workforce seeking additional income, can easily engage with the e-lottery, increasing participation rates across different demographics, he said. By democratising access to lottery opportunities, the online lottery can help bridge socio-economic divides, encouraging broader engagement in a system that many view as a potential source of financial upliftment, Rhiti Sports said.
Additionally, the online lottery will ensure transparency in operations, allowing users to track how proceeds are utilised, particularly in funding social initiatives like education and healthcare. Rhiti Sports said that this accountability fosters trust within the community, encouraging players to support causes that align with their values. Ultimately, by integrating technology into the lottery ecosystem, the online lottery not only revolutionises how lotteries operate but also cultivates a more informed and socially responsible society, it said.
