Toronto Beach Chorale concert set for Saturday night – Beach Metro Community News
By ISABELLE FERNANDES
The Toronto Beach Chorale (TBC) is hosting a benefit concert for St Anne’s Anglican Church this Saturday.
The concert will be held at St Aidan’s Anglican (2423 Queen St. E.) church in the Beach on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
This concert, according to the TBC’s website, was originally meant to have taken place at St Anne’s Anglican Church in conjunction with the Do-West Festival on June 9, 2024. That concert had to be cancelled due to a fire which destroyed the heritage building located on Gladstone Avenue in the west end of Toronto.
The loss from the fire also included the church’s organ, pianos, choir robes and its significant choral library.
The TBC is now offering this Saturday’s concert as a “donate what you can” fundraiser for St Anne’s ministries, including their music programs, to repurchase items lost in the fire.
At Saturday’s concert, TBC will be performing works by JS Bach with soloists and Chamber Choir Ensemble. They will perform Cantata 118, Keyboard Concerto g Minor & Cantata 113.
