A man from New Bedford will receive $20,000 a month for the next 10 years from the Massachusetts State Lottery after he won the grand prize in a $10 scratch ticket game.

Barry Seguin, of New Bedford, won the monthly prize for a decade from the “Decade of Dollars” scratch ticket game. This was the final grand prize to be claimed in the game.

Seguin chose the annuity option on his prize. He received his first year of payments, which totaled $240,000 before taxes. He will start receiving monthly payments next October of $20,000 for the next nine years.

The New Bedford man told the lottery he wants to invest his winnings.

Seguin bought his winning ticket at the Cumberland Farms gas station located at 2886 Acushnet Ave. in New Bedford. The shop will receive a $24,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
