VIDEO: Toronto police officers tackle and apprehend suspect on TTC tracks – NOW Toronto

A viral video has captured multiple Toronto police officers tackling an allegedly armed suspect on the train tracks at a TTC subway station.

On Saturday, police responded to a call for a person with a gun at Bloor-Yonge subway station around 1 a.m.

According to police, the suspect was seen entering the station, holding a firearm in his possession. When police arrived, they found the suspect on the train platform. The suspect tried to flee the scene, but was soon caught by multiple officers, police said. 

In a video posted on social media by 6ixbuzz, several officers are seen apprehending the suspect on the tracks, with others surrounding the area. The suspect is later Tasered for “resisting arrest.”

During this incident, an officer suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Toronto resident Shaquille Miller, 30, was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, two counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, and Possession of a Weapon, among other charges.
