19-year-old sought in armed Scarborough jewellery store robbery
Toronto police have arrested two people and are searching for a third suspect after a jewellery store robbery in the city’s east end in March.
Officers were called to a shopping area near Sheppard Avenue East and Neilson Road just before 1 p.m. on March 8.
Police say four male suspects, one armed with a large sledgehammer and all wearing disguises, broke into the store. One suspect walked in and stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery. They then fled the scene.
Investigators were able to identify three of the suspects and, after executing five search warrants, were able to arrest two people. Officers also recovered a loaded handgun and other evidence related to the investigation during the searches.
Daniel Offe, 22, of Toronto, faces nine charges that include robbery with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime over, and firearm-related offences.
Abdulahi Ali, 21, of Toronto, was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime over, and failure to comply with a release order.
Police released an image of a third suspect, Harun Ahmed Hussein, 19, of Toronto, who is wanted for robbery with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime over.
Investigators have not yet identified the fourth suspect in the case.
