3.06 lakh students selected through online lottery for admission
A total of 3.06 lakh students were selected online through the lottery for admission in classes I to IX in government and non-government schools across the country for the academic year 2025 on Tuesday.
Under 680 government schools, 98,205 students were selected against 1,08,716 seats and under 4,945 non- government schools at metropolitan and district sadar levels 2,07,883 students were selected against 10,07,673 seats.
The admission to the schools will start from today (Wednesday) which will continue till December 29.
On Tuesday the results of the online lottery were published at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education’s secondary department’s deputy director Mohammad Aziz Uddin said that along with the results, the first and second waiting lists were also published.
Under the first waiting list, 79,502 students for the government schools and 1,01,156 students for the non-government schools were selected and under second the waiting list 58,558 students for the government schools and 67,514 students for the non-government schools were selected, he added.
Earlier the admission seekers applied online between November 12 and 30 for admission.
A total of 6,35,072 students applied in 680 public schools against 1,08,716 seats and 3,48,467 students applied under 4,945 private schools at metropolitan and district sadar levels 2,07,883 students were selected against 10,07,673 seats.
