2 officers sent to the hospital following crash involving Toronto police SUV, car


Two Toronto officers have been taken to the hospital following a collision between their SUV and another vehicle in the city’s downtown core.


The crash, which resulted in the two vehicles involved becoming sandwiched between two utility poles, happened on Thursday at around 8:40 p.m. near Lake Shore Boulevard West and York Street.


Paramedics said they transported one person to the hospital with minor injuries, however a Toronto police media officer later told CTV News Toronto that two officers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.


No one was hurt in the other vehicle that was involved in the collision, police said.


Currently southbound York is closed at Lake Shore. Police are on hand directing traffic to keep the intersection moving.
